Joys of Adopting Older Children

There are many joys of having adopted older children from all over the world.  I would like to share just a few of those with you today:

The joy of introducing them (and Grandma, of course) to strawberry picking!

The joy of watching movies together as a nice, little family!

The joy of making Vietnamese Spring Rolls together with siblings from Vietnam, Kazakhstan, Russia, a fiance from Michigan, and a cousin from California!

The joy of having a Russian born son help rebuild homes after Katrina, alongside a godly older cowboy!  If they could only have understood each other’s accents…

I John 3:1  How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God!

But, most of all, parents have the joy of leading their adopted children to the foot of the cross!  Just last night two of our girls professed their faith in Jesus Christ and requested the waters of baptism!

Ephesians 1:4-6 For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight.  In love he predestined us to be adopted as his sons through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will – to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves.

  1. Now that joy of leading your children to the Lord is one of the best joys there is! How exciting, pleased and thankful you must be. Keep serving the Lord!
